House Middelmann comprises a substantial alteration and addition to a 1960's house designed by Mo Sharfman. Our challenge was to retain the essence of the existing House which had architectural merit, and connect a new structure to it in a seamless contemporary way.
The west facing street elevation is austere, tapering towards a glazed entrance gallery that hints at a more generous spatial sequence and garden beyond.
To the east, the house opens onto a beautiful established garden where interior and exterior spaces flow into one another generously to promote outdoor living and extend the natural beauty of the place into the home.
